<b>A College Course all about Miley Cyrus is introduced to New York by Skidmore College!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
College is one of the most interesting times of anyone's life, but now <b>New York </b>is making it a little bit more interesting! <b>Skidmore College, </b>a private liberal arts college in <b>Saratoga Springs </b>is now offering a course all about <b>Miley Cyrus</b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Visiting Assistant Professor, <b>Carolyn Chernoff </b>entitles the course "<b>The Sociology of Miley Cyrus: Race, Class, Gender and Media." </b>She says that she is going to focus on the 21 year-old singer-performer and all of her incarnations throughout her life in order to be able to study topics like race, fame, gender, class and power.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chernoff states that she got the idea for the course right after she taught a course on youth culture which featured a video of Miley's infamous twerking during the <b>2013 MTV Video Awards.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Did I mention twerking yet? Yes, you will have to learn how to twerk during your own free time, Chernoff says.</div>

Channel</b> star has grown through the years, she shows her ability to shed her
‘childish’ figure by going all out with her performances and music videos. A
trending before and after picture of Miley Cyrus years ago in her movie, <b>“Hannah Montana: The Movie”</b> to her current
music video, <b>“Wrecking Ball” </b>goes
viral on the web.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A documentary on the 20-year old star will be featured in a
one-hour documentary called, “<b>Miley: The
Movement</b>” which premieres this Wednesday at 10pm. As a fast paced
documentary by <b>MTV</b>, they have followed
Miley and her progress ever since her early summer debut of Miley 2.0 with her
hit single “<b>We Can’t Stop</b>” all the
way to her emotional song and naked music video with the chart-topping, “<b>Wrecking Ball</b>”.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Miley uses the title of “movement” as that is what she calls
her 360 transformation from the innocent Disney star to the current 20-year old
that is doing whatever she wants and doesn’t give a damn about what others
think. <span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;">"I just
needed to let go of the past in a way, so I felt like I could be the bad b---h
I am," she says in the documentary.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In the documentary, Miley emphasizes with force to the
choice of words in the title with, “People always want to call it a
transition . . . It’s not a transition, it’s a movement. It’s a growth. It’s a
change.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Although Miley has been portraying a Cyrus we have never
encountered before, under her shenanigans, twerking, and tongue-sticking, she
is an independent woman who knows what she is doing.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Just recent <b>VMAs</b>
proved her ‘movement’ as her and <b>Robin
Thicke</b> discussed their performance before they took up the stage. <span style="background: #FBFBFB;">“You can watch that performance and think that’s a
hot mess,” Miley says about the VMAs a few days after. “But it’s a strategic
hot mess. </span><span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;">If I
wanted a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed as a damned bear."</span><span style="background: #FBFBFB;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background: #FBFBFB;">In an interview with MTV,
Miley and Robin repeated said before the performance that, </span><span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;">“You know we're about to
make history right now.” This currently proves to be very true as Miley tops
the trends in the online universe.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">All the teddy bears, nudity, and provocative foam finger
moves weren’t just an on-the-spot performance, but a very well laid out
‘strategy’ for making history.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As Miley kept mentioning that their performance was all part of the
strategy, she couldn’t help but say that she didn’t over think about the whole
thing. "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did
it. Like, I didn't even think about it because that's just me.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">At least Miley knows what she’s doing and seems to be holding on to what
she believes in and isn’t going off the deep end and blaming someone or
something else for her actions.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yes, many people are shocked, confused, and some are even
down right insulted of Miley and her change into the young woman she grew up
into, but she still holds the title of inspiration as she always emphasizes the
means of just being yourself.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Most people try to hide behind the façade of being this or
that, but Miley feels as if a new artist who can finally be herself after for
so long has been made her growth and change, "I was like born to be who I am like right now,"
she says.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="line-height: 115%;">The already awaited battle head-to-head of </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Lady Gaga</b><span style="line-height: 115%;">’s Applause and </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Katy Perry</b><span style="line-height: 115%;">’s Roar has been decided by
the public, Billboard charts, and YouTube views just recently. The made battle
was not intended by both artists but the timeliness of their comebacks were
impeccable so fans couldn’t miss a chance to make a showdown of the two.</span></span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 115%;">

</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Since early in the year both artists have been hinting
towards their comebacks to the public. Lady Gaga tweeted lyrics to her </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Applause</b><span style="line-height: 115%;"> and uploaded pictures of </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">ARTPOP</b><span style="line-height: 115%;"> very early in the year, while
Katy Perry posted four teasers prior to the release of </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Roar</b><span style="line-height: 115%;">.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Gaga’s Applause was intended to be released on mainstream
airplay on August 19, 2013 but was sadly rushed into release when two-snippets
of her song were leaked online. In a potential song-leak, Gaga released
Applause two weeks earlier than intended, on August 12, 2013.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Compared to Applause, Perry’s Roar had its official radio
debut on August 10, 2013 and was available on iTunes two days later on August
12, 2013. A lyric video came out first on YouTube while the Official Music
Video followed a couple weeks after.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">In the end, leaks or not, both videos had positive critics
and comments although Gaga fans had a mixed bag of thoughts towards her
Applause. Settling the comments aside, both YouTube views have escalated as
Gaga’s Applause has more than 55 million views while Perry’s Roar has almost 68
million views. Both have been welcomed by their fans while the battle has
subsided, but who do you think is the winner in your own eyes? The fabulous
ARTPOP comeback of Lady Gaga and Applause or simple yet catchy return of Katy
Perry and Roar?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Although people were busy concentrating on the comeback of </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Lady Gaga</b><span style="line-height: 115%;"> and </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Katy Perry</b><span style="line-height: 115%;">, another press-worthy artist dominated the web in a
matter of weeks with her song Wrecking Ball, </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">Miley Cyrus</b><span style="line-height: 115%;">. Yes, the head-to-head battle was exciting between both
Gaga and Perry, but it could not compare to the controversy created </span><span style="line-height: 115%;">by Miley
Cyrus and her emotional yet risqué music video of Wrecking Ball.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>

and as a radio hit just this mid-September worldwide. It charted as number 50
on The Billboard Hot 100 just in one day and 44 on the Canadian Hot 100 although
it wasn’t released as a single yet back then. The official music video was
uploaded on September 9, 2013 on Miley Cyrus’s VEVO.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 115%;">Miley Cyrus definitely broke records on YouTube as during the

breaking the previous record held by </span><b style="line-height: 115%;">One

which held 12.3 million views. Wrecking Ball reached 100 million views just a
mere six days later and holds more than 112 million views up to date.</span></div>
</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><div style="text-align: justify;">

sensational and the current trends of the music industry and entire web. Lady
