Angel Locsin to transform to Darna once again, confirmed!

After 66 years of its first release, comic book Darna has had many TV spotlights from different superhero actresses including Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin. After so many year of the epic and iconic heroine, there is no way her story should end so easily.

Award-winning actress Angel Locsin has been the confirmed actress to play Darna again, but this time she will empower the big screen in 2014.

Angel has played Darna before in the television series before in the year 2005. To be the star in the television series, and movie will give Angel a record for being the first to be featured in both.

Confirmed by Star Cinema managing director, Malou N. Santos during an interview, ABS-CBN has bought huge title rights of TV series likeDarna, Dyesebel and Captain Barbell through Mars Ravelo’s talented imagination.

To bring more excitement, Ms. Malou Santos has also admitted that the script continuing Darna’s life and exposing her past has already been made and they are targeting the start of film outfitting by next year.

Santos explained that she is looking out for the other sci-fi movie line-ups for next year like ‘The Avengers’ and other Hollywood movies, as they talked about special effects in movies.

Santos actually quoted, “When we bought the Mars Ravelo stories, gusto naminisa-pelikulaangDarnakungsinosiDarnasapanahonngayon. Definitely, the effects will be different from the past Darna movies. Kasi if you will not showcase the different effects, sasabihin, anoangbinigaynabago?”

Fans all over the country aren’t the only ones excited and approve of the new news as Marian Rivera (who has also been Darna before) has also commented and approves of Angel Locsin and her role of reviving Darna on the big screen!
