They say a mother’s love is one of the strongest loves on Earth. This theory is very accurate to the way Miss International 2005, Precious Lara Quigaman Alcaraz feels about her beloved son, Noah.

As a first time mom in November 2012, Lara let go of her thoughts about her looks, and gave them all to her baby. Going through her pregnancy, Lara gained around 50 pounds and acquired dark stretch marks and a swollen body. Although, through all that, the way motherhood would change her looks, which is coveted by many women and fantasize by many men, never worried her for all her worry was towards her baby.

“Ang dami kong fears nung buntis ako – kung normal and healthy ang baby, kung kumpleto ang mga daliri ng anak ko, kung kaya ko siyang alagaan.” Lara commented. “Ang inisip ko lang kailangan ng baby yan.  So kung gusto ko ng halo-halo, bili ng halo-halo.”

After ignoring her stretch marks for so long, Lara finally acknowledged herself when someone from Bio-Oil approached her and asked if she wanted to be the brand’s ambassadress. Endorsing the product, the certain someone told her the product would help deal with her distracting stretch marks across her body from her pregnancy.

“Ang stretch marks, scar na siya. Hindi na maaalis,” Lara replied.

Although when Lara was informed of the product’s effectiveness in improving her stretch mark appearances through lightening, she didn’t think twice and replied with an enthusiastic, “Let’s go!”.

By using Bio-Oil, Lara became more confident about herself and started to wear sexy gowns once again. During the conference press of Bio-Oil, she gladly wore a burnt orange dress, while Noah complimented his mom’s outfit with a bright orange shirt also.

Lara is definitely the role-model mother as her persona shows what a hands-on mom she is by gently caressing her baby boy as cameras took shots of the sweet duo. Although Lara may seem like she is all glitter and glam, she actually doesn’t mind getting dirty for her sweet boy as she gets on her knees to clean, change his clothes when he gets dirty and pick up his toys along the floor.

For a while, Lara felt she needed to attend to her son’s needs herself and didn’t want to entrust Noah to  someone else as both her and her husband Marco Alcaraz’s parent are abroad. Lara would bring her baby Noah anywhere she went including tapings and other functions.

After time passed by, Lara’s fear of allowing Noah be more free slowly disappeared as she arranged for her assistant who has been with her for six years, to look after Noah. He would always be glad to see Lara’s assistant so instead of just her and Marco as his guardians, another assistant would be there to help.
“Kumuha ako ng yaya six months after Noah was born,” she recalls. “Pero binigyan nya ng breast milk from the freezer ang anak ko without heating it. So hindi siya tumagal ng one year.”

“Mahal siya ng anak ko.  Napansin ko na mainit ang ulo ko sa kanya nung buntis ako. Ngayon alam ko na kung bakit. Magnanay na sila ngayon.” Lara says.

Everyone is excited for Noah’s first birthday

As Lara talks about Noah’s first birthday which is still a couple months away in November, she talks more about the founding of baby Noah’s name.
“Noah is my favorite Bible character kasi kahit sobrang pinagtatawanan na siya ng mga tao, gumawa pa rin siya ng ark kasi inutos sa kanya yon ni Lord,” explains Lara. “Gusto ko ganon din ang anak ko.”

As for Noah’s second name, Lamar, Lara tells us that it was Marco who suggested what he should be blessed with.

“Ako ang pumili ng first name so binigyan ko siya ng chance na mag-isip ng second name. Sabi ni Marco, Lamar combines both our names.”

Lara always keeps an inside joke that the name Lamar comes from the famous cager from the Los Angeles Clippers instead, although as loving husband and confidante, Marco doesn’t mind the joke.

Noah’s birthday may still be two months from now, but Lara already had made plans for kiddie guests in animal costumes sticking to the Noah’s Ark party theme as his name suggests. Let us all wait to greet and celebrate baby Noah’s adorable first year celebration this November 12, 2013.
