It’s Showtime; New competition named Jambunganga

ABS-CBN’s number 1 afternoon entertainment show, It’s Showtime, has added a new competition named Jambunganga just yesterday on September 17, 2013. The competition in Jambunganga searches for groups that deliver music with a very refreshing musical arrangement to provide entertainment.

Many were already very excited for the launch of Jambunganga as the announcement of the new segment was known last Saturday September 14, 2013 paired with a special a cappella performance of Blackstreet’s hit song No Diggity by Billy Crawford as lead vocalist and Coleen Garcia, Karylle, and Anne Curtis as back-up vocals.

Their special performance also had the accompany of co-hosts Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, Vice Ganda, Jugs Jugeta, and Eric “Eruption” Tai, who provided the song with rhythm and beats conducted by Teddy Corpuz. Also, other than just back-up vocals, Anne and Karylle also sang the rap parts of the song.

Before the spectacular announcement of Jambunganga, another important event happened before that, which was the acknowledgement of the first ever Bida Kabarkada grand champion who happened to be the dance group Rizal Underground. From a transition of explosive stunts, to a unique theatrical hip-hop performance, the group received the only standing ovation from the judges.

Rizal Underground’s fascinating interpretation of important event’s in Philippine history like the battle between Magellan and Lapu-Lapu to Gen. MacArthur’s return to Leyte gave the group and overall score of 9.5 and champion prize of P1M cash.
