The
new “It’s Showtime” segment, “I Am Pogay” hit top trending not only
in the Philippines, but worldwide! Viewers and netizens alike that watched the
hit noontime show this Saturday has witness the debut of an all new LGBT
segment that circles around handsome gays. The new segment premiered with two
handsome hopefuls.
Judges
for the competition on Saturday were co-hosts Karylle and Jhong Hilario along
with celebrity stylist, Liz Uy.
The
first two contestants for the all-new “I AM Pogay” were 29 year old Erimar Ortigas and 23 year old Dennishon Bryan Reyes-Javier. In the
segment, contestants have to share a pick-up line and perform a talent of their
own choice. Contestants also are subsequently asked to relate a mystery object
to life during the question and answer portion.
Co-host,
Billy Crawford announced during the
contest that “I Am Pogay” was already a major trending topic in Twitter where
at some point, “I Am Pogay” became a top worldwide trend along with “POGAY” and
“Liz Uy”.

Surprisingly,
one contestant, Javier, used the “It’s Showtime” segment to reveal his sexual
preferences for the first time to the public. The move surprised the “It’s
Showtime” host including openly gay comedian, Vice Ganda.
Similar
to the other popular contestants in the “It’s Showtime” show, the audience
still gets to rate the contestants of the segment. This time the rating
placards have the words ”Confirm”, which represents approval, and “Confused”
which represents the opposite.
In
the end, the judges gave the two handsome gays a “Confirmed” score resulting in
having a tie and both of them bringing back P20,000.
The New Trending Contest
In
the hit noontime show, “It’s Showtime”, the “I Am Pogay” segment is actually
the second LGBT-themed segment of the whole show, second to the very successful
and also trending segment, “That’s My
Tomboy” which features masculine females that can be easily taken as a boy.
Aside
from those two segments, “It’s Showtime” also features their segment of “Stars on 45” which is a singing contest
for those individuals 45 years old above. Another trending segment is the “Kalokalike” segment which focuses on
celebrity look-a-likes.

"Pati
'yung mga paminta diyan, mag-out na kayo at sumali sa I am Pogay," added Anne Curtis.
All these current segments on “It’s Showtime” definitely keeps
the noontime show in it’s number 1 spot on national television with super
positive reactions from netizens and viewers alike.
