This Sunday, December 22, ABS-CBN will be airing a special documentary entitled “Yolanda” featuring the horrific
experiences during broadcast journalist, Atom
Araullo during the downfall of one of the world’s strongest storms ever.
Footage of what he and his crew experienced will be finally
witness by Filipino’s nationwide. During an interview from Lynda Jumilla’s ANC program, “Beyond
Politics,” Atom had described his experiences during the storm and even the
unbelievable aftermath of the typhoon where no matter how prepared, could not
have even imagined the devastation to happen.
“We were there when the storm was happening, when typhoon
Yolanda was kicking. We could see the water rising then we imagined thousands
of people getting trapped in their houses,” Atom had described.
“The people were running around… You could hear people
sobbing in the darkness, there was no power, there were dead bodies all around,
survivors couldn’t get in touch with their loved ones,” he added.
Along with his unforgettable experience during the powerful
storm, Atom will also be showing video footage of the super typhoon’s arrival
which hasn’t been seen by the public yet. Atom will also be sharing the hard
and critical hours after the storm had hit Tacloban.
With devastation comes inspiration; Atom will also be
sharing some inspiring yet heart-breaking stories of certain Yolanda victims
which will be able to inspire anyone to stay strong as the Filipino strength
will be highlighted along with the unity between the world and Philippines.
