World leaders US President Barack Obama and Pope Francis have agreed to pledge aid for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda local) along with 22 other grand leaders of foreign countries.

Obama stated to the press that, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the millions of people affected by this devastating storm.” He added, “America is already providing significant humanitarian assistance and we stand ready to further assist the Philippines government’s relief and recovery efforts.”

The Vatican’s Pope Francis also showed how affected he was as he has urged Catholics to provide help to the victims as he also said that he was deeply saddened. “Sadly, there are many, many victims and the damage is huge,” the Pope also said on Sunday. Before his statements, he also tweeted his sympathy to Philippines and the victim on the social networking site, Twitter.

The US Government has been a very important part in relief efforts for the Philippines as supplies like hygiene materials, and emergency shelter has been flowing in to help the affect families.

The USAID is also showing their support as they are distributing 55 metric tons of emergency food which will be able to feed 20,000 children and 15,000 adults for up to five days. Also, around 90 US Marines and sailors have arrived in the Philippines to assist in distributing and peace, they are also a part of a promised first batch of U.S. military assistance where aircrafts for search and rescue operations are also included.
