Rhianna in ‘Diamond’-Perfect Performance at Manila Concert

One of the best-selling music artists of all time, Rhianna conquered Manila for the second time at Mall of Asia Arena (MOA) as the Manila leg of her “Diamonds World Tour” featuring her incredible hits on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

The first time Rhianna visited Manila was in 2008 with her then boyfriend Chris Brown. This year, international superstar arrived a few hours before her concert although she was two hours late for the show, and left right after the concert.

“Manila, how you all feeling tonight? This is my second time here the first time was a really long time ago, but I did not forget,” Rihanna told fans.

Rhianna pumped up the crowd by opening up with “Manila! Are you ready to get crazy with me tonight?” and screamed as started as hip-hop genre with “Fresh off the Runway” and “Birthday Cake” from her album, ‘Unapologetic’.

Barbados-born singer, Rhianna scored big with a sporty outfit featuring an all-white glam made up of a one-piece mesh swimsuit, baggy shorts, jacket, head wrap, and rubber shoes. She looked fabulous although many expected her to change into another costume every time Rhianna exits and enters the stage, but the artist kept her same outfit throughout the whole show, minus some item every now and then.

Rhianna didn’t disappoint her fans with energetic dance songs and an arena which looked like a huge dance club with pyrotechnics, supporting videos playing on big screens, and laser lights matched with her hit-songs like “Rude Boy”, “Only Girl”, “All of the Lights”, “Where Have You Been”, “What’s My Name”, and “You Da One”. Starting of the second set showed her energy burst in the concert.

Supported by back-up dancers, Rhianna knows how to bring in originality and uniqueness to herself by tossing in her own naughtiness to the choreography with moves like shaking her butt, teasing the crowd, and others with her dance steps.

The crowd went wild when Rhianna sang her famous hits, “Umbrella”, “Please Don’t Stop the Music”, “S&M”, and “We Found Love”. Everyone sang along with Rhianna who screamed “Manila” many times.

After the supply of dance songs, Rhianna slowed to a ballad rendition of “What Now”, where she wore her jacket and swimsuit without shorts.

Rhianna definitely made her fans happy, especially the celebrity ones. Singer made sure she greeted fans from all sections of the Arena from the very front to all the way in the back and upper levels of the arena. Rhianna made celebrity fans Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu, Bianca Gonzalez, Ruffa Gutierrez Isabelle Daza, Liz Uy and others tweet and instagram photos of their happiness and excitement as ‘Diamonds’ singer went down stage to briefly hold hands with her fans like them.
