Another Amazing Performance by a Filipina in The Voice USA get through the Blind Audition!

Katriz Trinidad, a teenager at 15 years old wowed the three judges of The Voice USA during the blind auditions with her own rendition of the popular classic "At Last" by Etta James.

Pharrel Williams begged for Trinidad's company on his team. "I never thought that I would find something that I'd usually look for my own label; that I'd been dreaming for an artist like you all my career," Williams said. "Just remember these words: I want you on my team so bad and I've never done this. I'm on my knee."

Williams had also gone through the trouble to get on his knee and even write a "please" on his notebook.

Not only Williams, but also Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were mesmerized by Trinidad's performance and shared their want for Trinidad's talent also.

"All of us, at the back of our minds, keep the hope alive that somehow we’ll find someone who was born to be a star and I really think you could be that person. You're so different. You deserve to win this thing," said Shelton.

Stefani had commented that Trinidad was almost a "perfect singer".

"You started of soft and controlled and then you hit a note that was so beautiful and it was just mind blowing. And to find out that it’s from a 15-year-old voice, it’s hard to really take it all in," Stefani said.

With the convincing true to Trinidad, she chose to join Team Pharrel.

"I really thought that Pharrell spoke to me the most because he truly believed in me. I saw it in his eyes. He went on his knees for me and he wrote 'please' on his notebook which I thought was awesome because that's Pharrell," Trinidad said.

Trinidad shared that she looks up to Etta James, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin and Beyonce as inspirations for she herself is a soul and R&B fan.


“It was definitely nerve-wracking before I went there but I was able to find my place on that stage and I was able to breath. I was able to push through and I impressed the judges. I got three of the judges who turned around for me which was Gwen, Blake and Pharrell,” Trinidad said.

Proud Pinay Trinidad believes in herself and her performance that she has done very well during the blind auditions.

“I'm definitely happy and proud of myself that I just got on the team. I'm just gonna wait and see how it goes,” she said.

Along with Trinidad, Filipina teen Marlisa Punzalan is also popular worldwide as she is a contestant to the reality singing competition of X Factor Australia where she currently hold the Top 5.
