

This year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the top of the news as the winners of the festival have been announced. For the festival, the major award categories are best actor/actress, best director, and best picture where eight entries competed for each title.
The eight official entries to the MMFF are 'Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy', 'Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story', 'Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel', 'My Little Bossings', 'San Pedro Calungsod Batang Martir', '10,000 Hours', 'Kaleidoscope World', and 'Pagpag'.
Other than just the eight major entries, the MMFF also includes the New Wave category which features the work of 5 animated shorts, 5 indie films, and 3 student-made shorts. Along with also the categories is the Cinephone category which includes 4 films all made completely through text messages.
The film festival started up on December 25, 2013, Christmas Day and will continue on nationwide with the screening up until the first week of January 2014.
