ABS-CBN has just recently held their superstar solidarity concert entitled, "Kwento ng Pasko: Pag-asa at Pagbangon: The 2013 ABS-CBN Christmas Special" and will be airing it on TV for all to watch as a two-part special this weekend (Saturday and Sunday Dec 14-15) where it will be dubbed as "Solidarity Weekend" in order to dedicate to the Kapamilya calamity survivors all over Philippines and raise awareness and funds.
The fundraising concert was sold-out and gathered over 100 Kapamilya stars who prepared special production numbers for everyone. One of the biggest highlights of the show were the inspiring song performances by Kapamilya singers including Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Sarah Geronimo, and Angeline Quinto while the romantic serenades of the 'Kapamilya Heartthrobs' led by Coco Martin, Piolo Pascual, and John Lloyd Cruz stole the hearts of the audience. Surprise numbers by Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis also led the audience to cheer, but the performance which led everyone at the Araneta Coliseum that night to stand and applaude in the only standing ovation that night was a band from Tacloban and their Beatles medley. To bring tears to the eyes, the concert also featured never before seen stories of the calamity survivors and what the volunteers had witnessed.
The proceeds from the very successful 'Kwento ng Pasko' solidarity concert will be glady donated to ABS-CBN Foundation's Sagip Kapamilya calamity fund which has been and will continues to assist in rebuilding not only homes, but lives of the many survivors from the calamity-stricken areas in the country.
Also, aside from just watching the solidarity concert, all the viewers can be a part of the "Solidarity Weekend" by wearing their "Tulong Shirts" and reaching out to the calamity survivors in their own way through social media. All you have to do is take a picture of yourself as you hold your personal message wearing the "Tulong Shirt" and post it on with Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #TulongPH
