The drive which made ABS-CBN
news anchor, Korina Sanchez to
comment about CNN’s Anderson Cooper is unknown in whether
it was a reason of her journalist’s instincts and responsibility or a defense for her husband, Sec. Mar Roxas, but
was powerful as she made a straight-forward comment on Anderson’s report about
Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) on Wednesday (November 13).
Anderson and his CNN crew flew to Tacloban
on Wednesday to have special live coverage on the super typhoon for his
show, ‘Anderson 360’. Super typhoon
Yolanda was named one of the worst typhoons that ever hit this planet.
Anderson then did a love report in front of the Tacloban airport where
he stated, “No real evidence of organized relief and rescue operation
around Tacloban. I haven’t seen much of a relief effort, I haven’t
seen a large military presence.”
It was this comment that Anderson made, possibly along with others, that
Korina had to stand up as the Department
of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been tasked to lead the
“search, rescue and relief operations on the ground.”
“Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw gov’t presence
sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya,” was what Korina
was quoted saying on her morning radio program on DZMM.
She has all right to comment, but it has made Korina the ‘talk’ of
netizens and citizens alike.
Korina was brave and stood up for what she believed in, how do you feel
about it? Comment below
