The nation’s most popular media company, the ABC-CBN Corporation has won a great achievements though the recently held 35th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) as they capture a total of eight awards in different categories for their programs on different media platforms which revolve around value.

In the Television Categories, the Kapamilya Channel has bagged four awards which include; Best Public Service Program for “Pinoy True Stories: Saklolo,” Best TV Special for the documentary “San Pedro Calungsod,” Best Station ID for ABS-CBN TV7 Palawan’s “Kwento Ng Pasko” Christmas Station ID, and Best Talk Show for “Bottomline with Boy Abunda.”

For the Music Category ABS-CBN won the Best Inspirational Song award with a song that was written and performed under Star Records by inspirational diva, Jamie Rivera, and entitled “Kuya Pedro” which honors San Pedro Calungsod.

The Best Public Service Radio Ad was also given to ABS-CBN and their Creative Communications Management for creating and bringing to life the radio promo which aired during the Holy Week in 2012, entitled “DZMM Bantay Lakbay”.
The blockbuster film and Star Cinema’s pride and joy movie, “It Takes a Man and a Woman” which stars Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz, was awarded for the Students’ Choice for Best Film.

Lastly, for one more radio award, Kapamilya took home the Best News Commentary award with DZMM’s straight-forwards radio commentary program, “Failon Ngayon” which is anchored by the veteran broadcast journalist, Ted Failon and has already grabbed the awards for its second consecutive year.

The Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) is organized by the Archdiocese of Manila, and this year was held at the GSIS Theater in Pasay City. The theme for the event this year was, “Social networks: Portals of truth and faith, new spaces for evangelization.” The CMMA is awarded to media products in different platforms as advertising, film, radio, television, and press which promote the Christian values and enhance the all-in-all human development of the Filipino audience through professional and creative use of different mass media techniques. This year, the CMMA had received 737 entries in 57 categories where only 216 were selected as finalists.
