Prince of Pop and “Star
in A Million” grand winner, Erik
Santos will be celebrating his decade-long career in the music industry
this November 9 with his concert entitled ‘inTENse:
A Decade with the Prince of Pop’. The concert will be held at the PICC Plenary Hall and will be directed
by Johnny Manahan with Homer Flores as the musical director
and an all-female special guest line-up which will be made up of Ai-Ai delas Alas, Yeng Constantino, Regine
Velasquez, Pops Fernandez, and Angeline
Quinto.
As part of his steady and climbing success, Erik’s
album which is of the same title as his concert has gone platinum within just
three months as his line of platinum-selling albums have begun since then.
Another step to his success is his long stay of ASAP ever since his win in “Star in A Million”. A title he has also
earned is ‘King of Teleserye Themesongs’
as he has recorded many of the most unforgettable and heartfelt soap opera
themes of this generation. His many recordings have also featured
collaborations with Christian Bautista,
Regina and Kyla and he has made
a popular and famous collection of Jim
Brickman-penned covers. Some of his awards and recognitions include Pinoy Music Chart’s Artist of the Year
(2006), MYX Music Awards Favorite Male Artist (2006-2009), Aliw Awards Best
Male Performance in a Concert (2007), and Star Awards for Music’s Pop Male Recording Artist of the Year (2010).
Erik stays humble as although he is considered as one of the most respected
performers in the Philippines, he says that he continues to challenge himself
more and more as an artist and that he doesn’t just sit on his ‘laurels’ after
all his success in his shows and albums throughout the year in show business.
Although Erik is already fulfilled with his much success in his career, he
still looks up to Mr. Pure Energy, Gary
Valenciano as his role model. As one of his goals in his career, he aspires
to do things in the international music scene.
During “ASAP 18” last October 20,
2013 Erik celebrated his birthday with other ASAP stars and said that his
birthday wish was that his concert would be sold out, so let us all help make
his wish come true!
