
The Grand clash of talented artists has finally come to an
end as
Mitoy from
Team Lea bested all contestants from
the blind auditions to the grand finale. With 57.65 percent of public votes,
Mitoy earned the highest score of them all. He has stayed strong throughout the
Top 24 and showed his skills and promise for the music industry as he achieved
the wanted title of
The First Ever ‘The
Voice of the Philippines’ winner!
The finale started out with a blast performance by Jed Madela and Arnel Pineda along with the Top
24 artists singing “We Will Rock You”.
Hosts Toni Gonzaga, Alex Gonzaga and
Robi Domingo then pumped up the
audience and viewers as they introduced each finalist individually.
Competition started with the duets between coaches and
artists as coach Sarah Geronimo and
artist Klarisse de Guzman started
with a beautiful ballad with “Your Song”.
Up next was Myk Perez along with
coach Bamboo with Myk on the guitar
and Bamboo dancing with a ballerina to the song “Morning Rose”. Putting life to the stage, coach Apl de Ap and artist Janice Javier performed “Himig na Pag-ibig” and “The Time” along with Lolita Carbon, making the crowd and
judges get up and dance along. Finishing up the duets was coach Lea Salonga with artist Mitoy in an emotional and the bomb
performance of “Total Eclipse of the
Heart” which was accompanied by Vice
Ganda.

To keep the energy and excitement up, the
Top 4 presented
The Final Showdown performances as their last chance to blow away
the audience and viewers and win their hearts and votes. First up to bat was
Klarisse representing
Team Sarah with the song “
I’m Every Woman” followed by
Team Bamboo’s
Myk Perez singing “
Everything”.
Janice Javier then took up the stage
representing
Team Apl with her
rendition of “
We Found Love”. Ending
the showdown was
Team Lea’s artist
Mitoy performing “
Leaving on a Jetplane”.
Following the wonderful performances of the amazing Top 4
was Shane Filan who was a member of
former boyband, Westlife. The Top 4
artists had the honor to sing along with him. Many fans felt melancholic as
they reminisced on the former boyband and their greatness in the music industry
where they left a legacy.
The long awaited performance of “The Voice of the Philippines” coaches happened with an inspiring
performance by Apl de Ap, Lea Salonga,
Bamboo, and Sarah Geronimo with
their beautiful rendition of Michael
Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”
As the announcement to who the first ever ‘Voice’ of the
Philippines drew nearer, the revealing of the Top 2 finalists were announced
first. Through much voting and hardcore battles, the Top2 were revealed as Mitoy from Team Lea and Klarisse de
Guzman from Team Sarah. The
announcement recharged the voting poll back to zero for both artists as voting
opened back up for number one.
Taking the stage one more time to sing for the title of ‘The
Voice’ was Klarisse with the song “Magsimula”
and Mitoy with his performance of “Help
Me If You Can”. Both wowed the audience as they sang their hearts away for
their dreams and the viewer’s votes.
The amazing Grand Finale stole all the places of Twitter
trends as supports continuously tweeted their supports and comments for the
show, the coaches, and of course who to vote for in the competition.
As the crowning of the winner was to be announced next, The
Voice of the Philippines stretched out the heart pounding results a little
longer by holding back the announcement and going straight to the awards of the
night. The awards included Couple of the night, gown of the night, host of the
night and others. The results are as shown:

The results of the winner were then finally announced after
all the blood, sweat, and tear poured into the show, performances, and votes
were shed during the Grand Finale. With many screams and shouts for the artist,
Mitoy Yonting was officially crowned
as the first ever Voice of the Philippines. Congratulations to the guidance and
expertise of Lea Salonga and others, Team Lea has been the benchmark and
winner of the first season with the artistic talent of Mitoy.
Mitoy has not only won the grand title of the first ever
‘Voice’ of the Philippines but also
a new car, an Asian tour package for two, P2million, and a four-year recording contract with MCA Universal.
