Richard Yap a.k.a. Ser Chief Releases Debut Album via Star Records

Richard Yap, better known by the local TV viewers as ‘Ser Chief’ from the hit teleserye Be Careful with My Heart, is excited about his first-ever recording album under Star Records. Ser Chief, Richard Yap thrillingly releases his debut album, which is Self-titled with ‘Richard Yap’.

“It is a dream-come-true because I’ve always wanted to sing since I was a kid,” states the popular love partner of Jodi St. Maria. “I am thankful to our teleserye because through our official soundtrack, people discovered that I can sing.”

Richard grew up listening to works of music by Kenny Rogers, Mike Francis, Queen, Hall and Oates, Barry Manilow, and Phil Collins, yet doesn’t feel the pressure of getting compared to the other talented singers in the country.

“I don’t think there’s a need to compare because we have different musical choices and different target audiences,” he explained.

Just like their hit TV-series, Richard shared that his self-titled album is similar by its easy listening and feel-good collection of tracks which nine are revival all chosen by ‘Ser Chief’ himself. The leading single of the album is “Don’t Know What to Do, Don’t Know What to Say.”

“It covers all genres, from pop to ballad to alternative, appealing not only to music fans in my age group but also to the teens and in-betweens,” Richard reveals and explains that this album is different from the “Please Be Careful with My Heart” album. “This is very special for me because I put a lot of hard work in it so that we could come up with something that’s really worth paying for. I’m hoping that all of my supporters will love it too.”

In Richard’s solo album under Star Records, the featured songs are the revivals of “You Take My Breath Away”, “Promise Ain’t Enough”, “Afterglow”, “High”, “Can Find No Reason”, “Think I’m In Love Again”, “Chasing Cars”, and the Chinese version of “Oh Babe”. Not only these, but the album carries the bonus tracks “Salamat” and “Please Be Careful with My Heart”

To all ‘Please Be Careful with My Heart’ and Richard Yap fans, get ready to support ‘Ser Chief’ with his debut album he worked hard and is very proud of by sharing the news.
